TEMPO → NOTE LENGTH → DELAY TIME
A note length,
in milliseconds.
Set your tempo and what counts as one beat. Convert a straight, dotted or triplet note into a clear timing value.

01 / DEFINE YOUR TEMPO
Start with the beat.
02 / YOUR TIMING VALUE
Quarter note
- Milliseconds
- Seconds
- Reference beat duration
- Target / reference beat
- Ideal repetition rate
Visible decimals are rounded. Repetition Hz describes repeats per second, not audio pitch. This is constant-tempo arithmetic; equipment limits and DSP timing are not inferred.
A FRACTION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
An eighth-note triplet
is exactly one third
of a quarter beat.
At 120 quarter-note BPM, the reference beat lasts 500 ms. A straight eighth lasts 250 ms. Multiplying that eighth by 2/3 gives exactly 500/3 ms, approximately 166.666666667 ms.
The calculation keeps that fraction intact. It does not substitute a rounded 67% multiplier or make a claim about a device’s setting range.
